2nd Grade

Tucker on his first day of 2nd grade! I can't believe how old he is. Tucker has been such a joy in my life and I know he will do wonderful in school. He's teacher this year is Miss Layne and he remembered her from last year when he would see the other teachers. I found it a comfort when she said that Miss Cochrane (Tucker's 1st grade teacher) had talked to her about having Tucker in her class. Hopefully she will be able to keep Tucker at the level he is at in school, not the level the rest of the 2nd graders are at.

Good luck in 2nd grade Tucker. I know you don't need it!!!

Grass!!!

This has been Nate's "weekend" project....I can't believe that we have grass in our backyard now. It looks so nice and I really can't wait to see the swing set on there and my kids out playing, not in mud and dust but on nice cool grass! Nate has worked non-stop for two days on getting the sprinklers ready and the ground level. We had heard of a really good deal on sod and just could not pass it up. Thanks Sweetie for working so hard and doing it all yourself!

Soccer started this week too and Tucker is the best one out there! He was the one who could kick the ball where he wanted it to go and just loved his first practice.

We also had Tucker at the ER this morning thinking he might have an appendicitis. Found out it is just a really bad flu bug that caused his abdominal pain. He is on a liquid diet until tomorrow when we take him to a doctor for a follow up.

Thadd has really risen to the rescue with Tucker not feeling well. He has helped me with breakfast for Norma the last few days that Tucker has been sick. The kids are great for me in the mornings. Mornings are not the greatest in my life now and my children really deserve a shout out for being so great at letting me stay in bed and getting themselves ready for the day on their own. I really have the greatest kids and love them so much!!!

Camping and Water Play

We got to go camping with the Taylors again this last week. I love going with this family! We went to Palisade in Utah. We had never been there but it was so much fun! There was swimming and boating and fishing and a playground right next to our campsite so the kids could just run across the road to play.On Wednesday the "other" Jared from Nate's crew came up with his little girl Ava. The 3 girls, Maddie, Norma and Ava were instant friends. It was fun watching them run around together.
Nate, Jered and Jared are a blast to be with! They have so much fun together and it was fun just watching them. They were as bad as a couple of teenagers daring each other to jump off the dock or racing in the boats.I really can't wait to go here again!

Fishing

Now Tucker took all of these pictures and I think he did a great job! There was a place to go fishing when we went camping and the men took the kids to see what they could catch. They did catch a fish and so they let each of the kids reel in the same fish. Poor fish was reeled in 5 TIME!

Thad did take the one of Tucker reeling in the fish.

All the kids!

Storm

At about 4:00 on Wednesday the breeze picked up. Nate was just on his way to the shower when it hit. In less then 5 minutes the wind had picked up to at least 90 miles an hour! Tree limbs were flying everywhere! We tried to get all the kids in the camper as fast as we could! The aunning was was still out on the camper so all the guys were trying to keep that from blowing away when a pole on the ti-pi fell! My boys and the dog were still in there. I grabbed them and got them in the camper. This is what the ti-pi looked like...
Then I realized that the boat was gone. Some other campers that were there had chased it down. It had flown about 200 yards and landed up the hill. This was un-real and I wish I had taken video instead of pictures because you just can not believe what it was like.

The guys stayed out trying to make sure that dinner kept cooking and that nothing else flew away. It rained for about an hour after this and the guys were soaked.
This put a damper on our water play for the rest of the trip, but the kids enjoyed playing on the playground still and we had gotten in plenty of water play before this.

It must be that when we go camping with the Taylors we are bound for RAIN! But we love to go with them and can't wait to go again!
