Happy Summer!

Look at our wonderful fruit basket! It was so pretty that I had to take a picture of it. There is a coconut in there somewhere too and the watermelon and cantaloupe wouldn't fit either. :)

Splash park, Bubbles and Backyard swimming

We have found a splash park that I have just fallen in love with! It was perfect for me and my kids. One: It is FREE!!! Two: It was just what I needed to find for my kids. It works for all of them. Tucker, who doesn't like getting wet that much can get as wet as he wants. Thad, who loves running through the water can play in the fountain as much as he wants. And Norma, my water baby, can swim to her little hearts content. It is close and it was crowded but so very nice that it will be a favorite of ours for the summer and the years to come.

After the splash park we went to Nana and Papa's to hang out with Winni while I sewed with my mom. I got out all our bubble things to take with us and they had a blast chasing them. It is always so windy right there in Lehi and so it was perfect for chasing bubbles. Winni just sat there and did Norma's bubble wand while they ran around the yard.

Had to throw these ones of Norma in here. I love her hair like this and it is one of the few things she will be still long enough for. It is war every time I even get the brush and comb to do her hair.

Here are the pictures of Kate in her swimming suit and her first time in the pool. We got this cute little swim suit from a someone for Norma. I think I may have put it on her once and I'm sure this will be the first and last time Kate wears it too. Norma loved having here in there with her but Kate was not so sure. Final decision: does Not like the pool. But very cute in a swim suit. Good thing I don't have to worry about her getting in the water for reals til next year.

Just a few things

I have been so busy this last week and this week isn't looking any slower but I have just a min to post a few things that have been going on at our house.

Norma was so cute last week when it was so windy outside. She found this cape and had me put it on her, then, in only the way Norma can think of things, she says to me, "I think it's windy enough outside I could fly." What a girl! This is where Kate sits as I do almost everything around the kitchen. Last weekend we did a lot of BBQ's with friends and family and I made a lot of cookies and goodies. Kate just likes being where she is not forgotten. These are what I have been so busy making this last week. I made 8 of them. I had a friend that was selling some crafts that she made and told me she would try to sell some diaper bags for me. Unfortunately, none sold. So it was a lot of time spent on these and I still have them all, so if you know of anyone who is looking for a diaper bag that is original and made with love, let them know I have some that I can sell them.I had to throw this one in here too. Kate looked so cute in green yesterday, (Thanks Lisa for this flower! I use it all the time, it's one of my favorites on her!) and she was enjoying being with Aunt Kathryn so much, I just had to take a picture of the 2 Kate's. Love Little Kate's chubby checks! They look huge in this picture!I also have some pictures of Kate getting in the pool for the first time, she didn't like it much. I need to go edit them though. We have been a busy little family and just having a good summer break. Hoping to get a lot done this week and spend time out in the sun and water!

Smile Song

So Nate had been out of town this week. This has been the first time in 9 years of marriage that we have been apart this long. So I have tried to remember things the kids have done over the week so that he can know what's been happening.
Sunday, Norma learned this song in primary. She was so very cute about singing it to all of us. She would stand behind the couch, clear her thought, say "Okay, I'm ready" and walk out in front of us all to sing.

I just loved it! She knew all the words. I just had to coax her a little bit.

Thad said something to me on Sunday to that really made me think. We were singing the sacrament song and he leaned over to me and said, "I don't want to be like Jesus." Now I have to say that I'm pretty proud of myself for not coming back with all the normal come backs to a statement like that with, "We Have to be like Jesus." "We need to be like Jesus." or any of the other things I might have said to him. Instead I asked him why he didn't want to be like Jesus. What he said has been with me all week. He told me he didn't want to hang on the stick like Jesus did. Was I shocked by this statement or what! I told him that only Jesus needed to do that for us so that we can be a forever family. He did that so we can see Grandma again one day and so that we can be with Jesus and Heavenly Father too. But this really has made me think. Jesus hung on the cross so that we wouldn't have too. But there are trials that we have to go through that seem un-bearable at the time and we ask why we are asked to deal with them, they are nothing compared to what he was made to go through for Us. Not only did he die on the cross, but he suffered in the Garden for us. He was a perfect person, he didn't need to go through all our pain and grief from sin, but he did that for Us. All he asks for in return are so little in comparison. Just that little statement by child has really made me think of so many things this week. I told Nate that we will have to have a FHE on the ways we need to be like Jesus, but the things he has made me think of this week will have a lasting impression on me.

My sister Winni has been with me this week too. She has been so wonderful to have here! I have been able to get so much done and she has been the biggest help with the baby! I have to say that I really worried when I first asked if she would come help me out but it has been so nice to have her here. I don't think I could have made it this long without her, I'm sure I would have locked myself in the closet long before now.

Now I'm just hoping to make it through 2 more days with out pulling my hair out and being so very grateful that my husband doesn't go out of town on a regular basis. Just one more thing I'm so glad that I don't have to have that as one of my trials in life. The Lord will never give you more than you can handle and He knows I would never be able to do this by myself.

Orange Girls

I made these summer dresses for the girls and it is finally warm enough for Kate to wear hers. I loved taking these pictures too. They are so cute! And Norma really wasn't to upset that I made her match with Kate too.
Is Kate smiling?
Here Mom, I'll help her look at you.

I love these girls!

Kate talking

I wanted to get some video of Kate talking for Grandpa and Nana Powell. I'm sorry it is such a bad video, I took it with my phone and so it's not the greatest, but I thought you would like to hear her talking. She is talking to the baby on the computer. (Which happens to be her. I had just opened the blog and her picture was on there.) It is very cute and she has become so vocal lately. Enjoy!
