New Glasses

Tape didn't work.  Nate tried to tell me and I told him to try.  He ended up finding these on a website and we payed $25, shipping and everything.  I think Tucker looks pretty sharp.

The Baby in the China Hutch

Ever since I was a little girl, younger than Norma, my Grandma Montag would give me porcelain dolls.  She was a huge collector and had some of the most beautiful dolls.  When she passes away I was able to get her China hutch.  Our whole married life, I have had my dolls in boxes.  We just haven't had anywhere to put them.  Even with this China hutch I still have 3 boxes with dolls in them down stairs.  I have a lot.

The reason I'm telling you this...  Kate found the baby in the China hutch.  The back is one big mirror and the other day she was sitting there and turned and found a friend.

This makes me think of Anne of Green Gables and I love it.  The pictures just don't tell the whole story.  She talked and played and showed her new friend her toys and would kiss the door.  It was the cutest thing! I almost wish I had gotten video because it was that cute to watch.  Kate has gotten a thing against camera's lately and so this was a good as I got before she noticed that I was taking pictures of her.

Got some pictures!

It took a little bit, but I figured out how to get the pictures from my email to the program that I like to use and got them to load on the blog.  Yeah me!

These ones are from the day of the Race for the Cure.  I said that the girls all went to Thanksgiving Point to the Tulip festival and here they are.  I had stayed back at the house with Kate who hadn't sleep all day but Nana took Norma and can I just tell you how much she is in love with her cousin Addie!  They are such great little friends.

Norma, Addie, Aubrey, Jennifer, Anna and Madison

Tucker and Thadd shooting with all the boy cousins.  They had a blast!

Here are some wedding pictures!  Yeah!  These are some Winni took.
The couple coming out of the temple as Husband and Wife.

Tucker not liking the sun.  (I don't blame him.)

John and Celest with my kids.  I LOVE this picture!!!  It is my favorite and I have it sitting next to the computer in our family frame.

Here is Nate and I at the U2 concert last night.  The UHP was given free tickets and we got to go!  It was so much fun!  I have never been to a concert and I like U2.  I love the Fray and they opened so that was a lot of fun to be there for.  Every thing was so cool.  The whole stage and all the lighting and special effects was amazing!  I am so glad we got to go and have a date night.

Tucker's Glasses

So for the 3rd time this month, Tucker's glasses have broken.  It was on the 24th of April the first time they got broken.  He was playing laser tag at my Mom's house and had taken them off to play, not remembering that he had set them on the floor or where.  A lot of running around later... Broken.  Not sure who but still broken.  We had to wait til Friday, (pay day) to get them.  On May 7th, while I was at the Race for the Cure, Kate sat on his face and they broke for the second time.  Again, had to wait til pay day to get them fixed.  That was just last Friday.  It is now Tuesday.  He was putting on his hoodie sweater at school, not taking off his glasses to do it, and they fell off through the bottom and landed just wrong and POW... broken again in the same place.  All I can say is that tape is now involved and might just be an answer to our prayers.  :0/

Norma's the person of the Week!

Norma made it on my cousin's blog as her person of the week.  What a girl but that is just like her. ;0)  Check out This Splendid Violet and see what she had to say.

So much to post about

I have so much to post about that has happened in the last two weeks.  Keep reading for most of it and come back soon to see the rest that I didn't have pictures for today. :0)

John and Celest's Wedding

 HAPPY DAY!!!

What an understatement.  I am truly glad that this week is over but the reason behind it all is what it was for and so very worth it.
You may recall that I made all the niece dresses that went from 7 to 14 all because there was a little material left over and I wanted to make it into an outfit for Katy... They all were finished by Friday to go home with family after the temple.  I didn't get a single picture of all of them out on the grass like I wanted too. I planned on laying them all out and taking a picture of all of them but it rained all week and it was down to the last minute that I was still sewing them all.  John and Celest had their endowments taken out on Friday the 6th, (the original wedding day on my calender) and Nate and I were able to go thanks to Glade and Diane.  It was wonderful!  I hate to admit it but it has been since my brother Gerald got his endowments before his mission since Nate and I have done a session.  Over 3 years.  I told my Aunt Kelli and Uncle Terry that I better not make it a habit to only go when my siblings are going because Winni is only 16 and it's may be a LONG time before Jeremiah ever goes through. :0)  Nate and I are going to make it a priority to go at least once every other month, if not more from now on.  It really makes such a difference in our house and in us.

Yesterday May 12, the Wedding. They were married in the Bountiful Temple.  I wanted to put down some key things that I want to remember about this day.
-Getting to the temple right on time.  Being a Powell, if we aren't half an hour early, we're late.
-Watching my brother walk into the sealing room with his bride and seeing them both glowing
-Being a little sad when the sealer invited the grandparents of the couple to sit at the front and knowing that John didn't have any to be there.
-Knowing that when the sealer said, "in front of Angels and these witnesses" that my grandparents were there and smiling as much as we were.
-Thadd watching out the waiting room doors for us and smiling so big when we came in.
-Seth and his beard!!!  LOVE IT!!!
-The tulips at the temple being so tall and bright.
-Kate wanting to get into the fountain so bad.
-Thadd being very ready to put on the shorts that we brought for him to change into that he changed while we were driving with Kathryn right beside him.
-Having BeAuTiFuL weather.
-Lunch being a lot more yummy than I expected.  Never doubt my Daddy's cooking.
-Stuffing myself on cream puffs, cream covered brownies and jello.  Mostly Katy on the jello. :0)
-Finding a park to let the kids play at while Kate slept in the car.  Norma is very friendly and thought all the other kids there were there to play with her.  We had no idea who they were.
-Coming back to an empty church.  Every one had gone home to take a nap.  We were just a little to far away from home for that.
-Having a little niece stick the knife to cut the cake, into the cake, lick it and then stick it back into the cake.  If anyone but my Mom had made the cake and had been so sad that it didn't turn out exactly how she wanted it, it might have been funny.  Since my Mom did make the cake and we were all so worried about it anyways...it wasn't funny.  (We will be laughing about this later.  I promise.)
-Being very grateful that we had an open house on Tuesday so that all of the Lehi people could come.  It was so great seeing so many friends and family there.
-Having the kids be so extremely good!!!  I mean EXTREMELY GOOD!!!
-Watching John sing to Celest as they danced to "their" song.  Make you want to cry or be sick.  I cried.
-Seeing the car all plastic wrapped, toilet papered, oreoed, full of balloons with a few "special" ones and having writing all over it with "JUST DID IT" on the back instead of "JUST MARRIED".  (Again, some thought it was so not right, me...I thought it was hilarious.)
-Driving away before the bride and groom did because it was after 9pm and we had a 2 hour drive ahead of us and a car full of very tired people.
-Getting to Kathryn's car to drop her off only to realize that Mom had her keys back in Perry.
-Walking in the door and having the kids all go right to bed.

Here are some of the few pictures I took. We had a really good friend come and take a lot of pictures and she is going to get them to us when she is done editing them.  This is where the kids played for most of the night.  Kate loved just being able to go about the freely and playing with any toy that didn't get taken away from her the minute she touched it.

It was a wonderful day and I am so very happy for my brother and his new bride.  I love Celest so much and I am so happy to be able to call her sister.  Congratulations you too!  I hope that you enjoy Disney land this next week!  Mwa!

Race for the Cure

Race day was beautiful!  It was so amazing to be up there and have SO MANY people up there for the same cause.  I am ashamed to say that I didn't do the 5K.  I ended up walking just the one mile.  It was a very nice morning though and it was very nice to walk with Glade and Diane.  We went to breakfast right after at the Market Street Grill.  Wow!  It was super yummy.  We spent the rest of the day at Glade and Diane's letting the kids play with their cousins.  They love hanging out with them.  The boys all got to go shooting and the girls all went to Thanksgiving points Tulip Festival.  If I could get the pictures from my email from Diane, I'd put them on here but I'm having issues with that.  I had to steal this one from the race. :0)  All in all, it was a great day.  I am excited to do this race again next year.  Nate and I have decided that we are all going to do it next year.  The kids will love it and it is such a good cause.  A great way to remember wonderful women.
