Year in Review

I have to say that I love my blog.  It is wonderful for me to see everything that has been important in our lives in one place.  I love going back and looking through it.  Be it something specific or just for something to do.

Looking back on the blog for this year, we have had quite a year.  Never in my wildest dreams would I have thought back in the first part of August that I would be blogging from Wendover today.

Here are some major highlights that I loved reading over again.

Trying to get rid of Eva.  Realizing that we couldn't and didn't really want to.

So many cute pictures of Katy that I can't even decide on just two to link here so I won't link any. :0)

Two cabin trips.  One with the Jared's and one with the Powell's

Tucker turning 10 and having a blast giving him a Science birthday party.

Katy turning 2 and Norma turning 6.  Man, time sure flies.

Crafting with my sisters.

The Race for a Cure.  Love doing this every year and can't wait to do it again next year.  Pictures here.

Nate getting his wings and being on the Motor's Squad.

Finally making it camping.  Took FOREVER to get to go.

Our first hike.  LOVED it!

Being evacuated from our home for the weekend because of the fire.

Our yearly trip to the zoo.

Norma getting glasses.

Glade and Diane getting their mission call to Cutiba, Brazil.

Hiking the "Y" as a family.

Putting the house up for sale.

Thad turning 9.

Thad getting to do karate and loving it.  Still wish we could have kept him in that.

My brother Gerald getting married!

Time Out for Women with the most wonderful ladies a girl can ask for.

Moving to Wendover!  Wow!  Still hard to think about.

Norma's first lost tooth.

Traveling for the Holidays.

Man, we have done a ton of fun things this year and I know that we will have many more memories to make with this coming year.

We love you all and are grateful for all the support and love that you send to us.

Happy New Year!

The Day After Christmas

They told us it didn't snow in Wendover.  Liars.

We spent the day playing cards, electronics and laying on the floor.

Miah was so sick.  I felt so bad for him.  I was glad that he came though.  We were only missing Gerald and Deborah for the day.
The next morning, Celest woke up sick so John and Winni spent the day playing cards with me.  Then John, Katy and I were sick the next day.  Some Christmas break at our house.  It seems more like a sick break.  But I was so happy to have my family here.

Family Christmas

My gift for Christmas this year was my family coming out to be with us.  Our house is tiny but we loved being cozy.

Katy wanted to take some pictures.

 My Kathryns. :0)
Where we were the only family last time we went to see a movie, we thought we'd go again.  Wreck-it Ralph was cool.  And we were the only ones there again. :0)

Merry Christmas

Katy couldn't get her presents open fast enough.  Then she couldn't decide which one to play with first.
But she opened these princess shoes from Nana and Papa and she started taking off her jammies so she could put the shoes on.  I told her she had to have clothes on to put the shoes on.
 After-math.

The boys got remote control cars from Papa and Nana and had a blast driving them around everywhere outside.

Norma got so many different craft things to do.  She is in heaven.

Christmas Eve Jammies

A Christmas Tradition.

It wouldn't be Christmas without new jammies.  The weather was bad and we were worried that Nate would be called out to work and he wouldn't be home to open the presents with the kids before bed so we let them open them during the day.

Here are my kids all ready for Santa to come.

We finished up the chocolate advent calender, read our last story out of our Story a Day til Christmas and headed to bed.

Good-Bye Frisbee

We have had a lot of fun with you this Christmas season.
You made our milk green.  You swapped out the stockings for the kids underwear.  You set up a Kissing Booth with the Barbies.

But most of all, you took the kids secrets to Santa and we can not wait to see if we have been naughty or nice this year. :0)

Snoopy Houses

My parents brought out gingerbread Snoopy houses for the kids to put together for Christmas break.  They waited and waited and when I finally got them out and started helping them put them together, Katy started by taking a huge bite out of hers.
They all did so well, putting them together and enjoying the time together.

Here are the finished houses.

This would be Tuckers.  It couldn't stand up to the pressure.

Keeping Busy

I knew the kids would go crazy this Christmas break.  No kids close to play with and keep them busy.  My mom had bought the big kids a Christmas cross-stitch at Thanksgiving time.  They loved it so much that I went on Pinterest and found them a Mario pattern to cross-stitch.  They are working on it all the time!

Katy has loved having Norma home to play with her.  And Norma has been so good to play with her.  It is so fun to hear the two of them in their room doing who knows what but having fun while they do it.

The kids have also talked me into playing a bit of Wii with them.
Along with all of this, we have been dealing with the flu.  Not pretty.  Not pretty.
