New Bracelet

Nate got me a new bracelet.

Now let me tell you the story.

While driving to Utah County on Thursday for the play, Nate had to bring his cop car because he needed to leave the next morning and the kids and I were staying the weekend.  I tend to be okay driving but for some reason I was very tired once we hit Five Mile Pass.  As we came through Ceder Fort I remember quickly opening my eyes and realizing I was almost off the road.  I had blinked just a little bit longer than I should have.  Nate was behind me and saw the whole thing.

At my mom's I asked him if he noticed me going off the road at that point.  He told me that in his head he was already calling in the helicopter and trying to decide which of us he would give CPR to first.  Needless to say we were just a bit scared by this.

When he came home he handed me this bracelet and a key chain holder with the same thing.  I will be more careful driving by myself from now on.

'Shrek' the Musical

Nathan needed to go to a play for one of his classes and instead of trying to find sitters for the kids and going to a theater in Salt Lake, he chose to take the whole family to "Shrek".  We took Winni, Mom (Kathryn had been to sick to come) and Celest with us.

What a fun night!  What a long night.  Katy sat on Nana's lap all night until just after intermission when she came to tell me she was ready to go back to Nana's house and to her blanket.  It was 9 o'clock at the time so she was valid in her reasoning.

The play was so cool.  Donkey's voice was amazing and the Fiona's acting made me think of my cousin Karras and how well she would have played the part.

It was fun to laugh at Thad when they kissed at the end and to have him laugh so loud and hard at the "passing gas" scene.  All in all, it was a fun family night.

Falling Off...

While trying to do a bit of homework so that the weekend away would be nicer, I hear a crash!!!

Then screaming.

Katy, her pants around her ankles, toilet paper holder in hand, on the side of the toilet, holding her head.

She had used the toilet paper roll holder as a handle to get up on the toilet and it broke, sending her into the shelves in front of her.

She had a pretty good goose-egg and her Daddy had bought her new bandaids so she was very anxious to try them out.

Just another day

We have been feeling very cabin fevered lately with all the school work Nate and I have had to be doing, so I took some time to blow bubbles with Katy.

UHP Awards Night

This last Friday we finally got to go camping!  Every year the section reserves the Ophir City Park for the weekend and they have a dinner, awards and the whole place just for the troopers to come and over-take for the weekend.

I think we have found a new favorite spot.  I sent the kids out with the camera to take pictures of the place.

Plenty to Catch Up on, Just no Time

I have tons to post, just no time to take and do it right now.  Check back and scroll down to see all about Thad's 10th birthday and other pictures here and there I've taken.  I'll put them on the days I took them.

Promise I haven't forgotten about the blog.  School is just intense this time around. :0)

Bountiful Basket Haul

On my way home from picking up our basket, these three were eating.  They are here at the school more times than not lately.  The two little ones have grown up and have lost their spots since I first saw them here.

And check out what came with our basket and extras today!  Took up over half the table!  So many yummy recipes are happening in this house this next week. :0)

Fall is here

Hot chocolate, sweater, rain pouring on the windows; I'd be in heaven if I was reading a romance novel instead of doing homework. :0)

Family Pictures

We had family pictures taken today and I had to take some while we were waiting.

Eva really wanted to be included.

Beautiful Norma!

Katy was being a ham-ball and singing while I was trying to get a picture of her.

"I love you!  I love you!  I Love you!"

Miss Winni was able to spend the whole week with us and we love having her here.

This was the only one with Katy smiling.

Man I love these kids!

Happy Birthday 10 Year Old!

Thad has been talking about this day since before Norma's birthday back in March.  Well buddy, its here!

We have a hard time shopping for this boy because he doesn't like video games as much as his brother does.  He did give us some ideas though.  This boy wants to be an artist and so we got him a ton of drawing supplies.  Sketch books, pencils, how-to books and more.  He was in heaven.

He had gotten his birthday money from Grandpa and Nana about a week earlier and we let him order something off line and have it shipped.  It was perfect timing and arrived today too.

A remote control helicopter.  Nate was just as excited as Thad was and has asked Santa to bring him one for Christmas.

We set it up for him to fly and land in a room without a ceiling fan.  It is such a small helicopter that to be able to fly it outside there has to be no wind whatsoever and that has not happened in a long time here.  He is able to land it on a target and loves to fly it around the whole house.

Thanks Grandpa and Nana!

It's hard to think I have another double-digit child.  I'm not that old am I?

Angel Lake

We decided to take a break from homework and go for a drive.  We have been told by all the locals that Angel Lake is the place to go camping.  It was raining so hard the whole drive over there but had stopped when we got to the turn off.

As we went along the road there were two different camping spots.  Angel Creek and Angel Lake.  We had never heard of the first so we drove right on past and headed up the mountain to Angel Lake.  We have given this road a new name.  Death road.  A two lane road up a steep slope with nothing but air between you and the side down the mountain.  Only to get to the top and find the smallest camping sites you have ever seen.  You could not even park a car there let alone a trailer.  And the lake, um, pond.

Pretty.  But small.  It would be a fun day trip.  There would be nice fishing, the smell was amazing, (smelled like camping) and there were some hiking trial around and up the mountain.  That is if you want to risk the drive up Death Road.

We did end up driving through the Angel Creek camping site.  There was no creek but the sites were a bit bigger.  Reminded me of Spanish Fork's Diamond Creek camp site.  If we go camping that way, we'll play it safe and stay off the mountain and stick to the creek.

Labor Day

Nana and Papa were able to come and see us today and go swimming for the last time this year at the pool and celebrate Thad's birthday a bit early.

They had taken him shopping when we had been there for Katy's surgery so he knew everything he was getting.  It is still fun to open gifts.
