So at the new house is a pellet stove. Nate was so excited and tried to put one in the other place when we were there. I'm glad he didn't because we got in here. Norma was standing in front of yesterday when she realized that it made her pants really warm. She then walked around wanting us all to feel how warm her bum was.
Katy is in "copy cat" mode and mimics everything lately. Even this. I was doing dishes when Nate came running in, pulling down her pants, holding her in the air and telling me to turn on the cold water. Katy was standing in front of the stove and warming her bum up to have everyone fell how hot it got when she tripped backing up and landed right on the stove.
Poor girl lost skin and everything. It is Saturday night and we have nothing for burns in our house. I only hoped that Smiths, our only store here, would have something. I did not want to have to drive her into town to find something.
They did and the internet is a wonderful thing that we were able to look up the best treatment for it. Homework was put on hold for the night because all this girl wanted to do was sit like this on her mommy's lap. I was so afraid to move or move her at all.
This is the next morning.
It started to ooze and we had to keep a bandage on it, changing it every night and morning. By day 4 her skin was so sore from the bandage and the burn was scabbing over we let it go without. It was itching her so bad and we had her in overalls with instructions to not scratch. It was so funny to look over and see her wiggling and dancing and when we asked what she was doing she told us she was scratching. It was so funny and cute. She will probably have a scar and now she doesn't like the fire but this was a learning experience for us all. I don't think she'll have people feel her bum again.

Ouch! Poor girl! That's not fun! I hope she heals soon!
I don't like the kind of lessons when someone gets hurt! :>(
Poor girl, what doesn't kill you makes you stronger.
