Dear Family, Friends, Loved Ones
As
2014 comes to an end, the Powell Family from Wendover would like to let you
know what our year has been like.
Nate
got a promotion at work to Sergeant over the Wendover side of Section 8 on
Christmas Eve last year. This meant a
move for us; next door to a bigger home.
This was the biggest blessing for us this year. Nate is almost done with his schooling as
well. He has one last semester to finish
to get his bachelor degree in Emergency Services Administration. It is similar
to Business Management. This will give
him a piece of paper to hang on his wall in his office at work.
Bobby’s
big thing this year was starting work the week of Halloween as an aide at the
elementary school the kids attend. This
is huge and a foot-in-the-door of what she is going to school for still. Work, school and kids are a lot of work,
laundry suffers.
Tucker
is now in 7th grade and at the high school. His favorite class is science and I don’t
know if it is the subject or the teacher, Mr. Klismith who has also started
giving guitar lessons to a few students and Tucker has found something other
than electronics to do.
Thad
is in the 5th grade and is in a 5th/6th
class. This is perfect for him as he is
the top student in his grade. He loves
to read, draw and build things. He is
always coming up with new contraptions that he wants to make and build. He is also attending an after-school program
that he gets to do all kinds of different sports.
Norma
is in the 3rd grade and is also the top of her class as well. She is in a special reading group with some
of the older kids where they get to read an excelled book and meet to discuss
it twice a week during school. Thad is
also in this group and Bobby is the one in charge of the group. This is something special for her and for the
kids.
Katy
is 4 going on 14. She is attending an
online preschool Upstart and loves doing it daily. She is learning so much and learning so fast
growing so much. She is getting special
one-on-one time with her Daddio now that Bobby works during day. She is spoiled beyond compare and she knows
it. Just ask her.
We
are loving life. We are still trying to
figure out how to make things work smoothly with Bobby and Nate both working
and going to school full-time as well.
This has been a huge adjustment for us but we are making it work. Wendover has been good to us and we are
happy. We have no plans to be moving
anytime soon and we are glad that things are going so well for our family.
We
want to wish you all a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year! May all your dreams and prayers be answered.
Love, The Powell’s
Nate, Bobby, Tucker, Thad, Norma, and
Katy
