Happy Halloween from Our house to Yours!

One year ago we were driving to Wendover to start a new life out here.  Tonight, we spent the night at the school because not living in a neighborhood is hard on Halloween.

We have 2 ninja's, a mermaid and Dorothy.

Because they didn't make me pay to walk the school with the kids, we were able to get cotton candy.  What a treat!

Here is my Dorothy with her Toto.  He did not want to let her hold him.  I made him sit there and be good.  She really wanted to take him with her to go trick-or-treating.

Norma wanted a "jumping out of the water" picture.

Branch Party

 Decorate a door, they said.

It will be fun, they said.

Well, this was my attempt at decorating a door.  Thanks to Pinterest for all these idea's, we only had to go get more duct tape for the spider. 

Set up our Halloween doorbell too.  I love that door bell and was so sad there was no where to put it here at the house.
Not everyone liked it and some people would just walk by to ring it over and over again.  :0)

I love these dudes!  So much fun to make with the kids.

Katy did not want to be told to keep her arms behind her back and didn't care that she was racing other people. :0)

Brushing Papa's Hair

Katy is loving brushing hair.  Obviously not her own but anyone else's.  Papa and Nana came to visit for the Primary Program and so Papa was the latest victim.  Of course, Katy had to get his beard too but I didn't move fast enough for a picture of that. :0)

My "Lap" Dog

For some reason Eva thinks that she is a lap dog.  If only she knew how hard it is to breathe with her on me.

Carving FHE

Yeah for not moving during Halloween, we were able to carve pumpkins this year.  It is so weird that it has been a year since we have been in Wendover.  It seems like it has been much longer.

All the kids picked what they wanted to carve.  3 out of 4 drew a picture to carve.

All but this kid.  He wanted to do one of the challenging pages out of the carving book.  Took him over an hour to carve it out!

Daddy did a "princess" for Katy.  She has been "Princess Katy" at our house lately.  Ugh.

$1 Movies

Every now and then we get a good deal at the movie theater.  This week was Monsters University for a buck.  We went twice.

Costumes

Here is a preview of Halloween costumes.

Katy didn't like the arms on the Minnie dress and I had already bought her ruby slipper shoes to wear this costume I made Norma years ago so she got to try both.

Day Trip

Nate had the weekend off and we decided that we needed to find a Walmart for the kids to find Halloween costumes this year.  I have had a hard time buying them and not making them, but I just can't find the time between school work.  We figured that Elko was just a long of a ride as Tooele so we headed west.

It was nice to see a different ride but it was still a long ride.  One of Nate's coworkers suggested we drive up Lamollie Canyon so we did.  I missed seeing red in the leaves but the yellow was so beautiful!

This is some glaciers.  This canyon was so beautiful and there is a camp ground right down there at the bottom that we hope to come back and go camping next year at.  Everything was closed with the shutdown though.  We parked on the side of the road and walked in to look at it.  Now I want to go camping!

Umm...

 I wanted a picture of Katy all ready for church and asked if the kids would take one.  I was able to crop the second one.

Flu Clinic

The Elementary had a flu clinic today. Do you know how nice it was to just send a permission form with the kids to get a shot at school and not have to deal with them throwing a fit? So nice.

Because our insurance pays for a flu shot we decided we would take Katy and the three of us would go get ours too. I don't think she heard anything but, "We are going to Norma's school. "

When we got there we found out that they were giving the mist to everyone because it was the better one. So much easier than trying to hold her down for a shot. And no sore arms. 

House of Cards

 The boys needed something to do and we have a set of cards that got water all over them and are not good for anything anymore.  Glad I didn't throw them away. :0)

Conference Painting

Celest, John and Winni all come out to our house for conference this weekend.  We just love having them out here and all the fun things we do when they are here.

Celest brought out some pumpkins for the kids to paint.

After that was cleaned up, us big girls were painting toe nails and Katy really loves having hers done.  She wanted to paint someones toes and her daddy very nicely volunteered. :0)

Temple

Katy wanted me to print her off a temple picture like her sisters for conference. Took me a bit to figure out what she was doing with her hands. This is something they have taught her in primary.
