Family Affair

With Nate's new bike he thought that the boys needed better bikes to be able to go with him on some of his bike rides.  Then he thought I needed a bike as well so we could make it a family affair.    We then worried about Katy not being able to keep up with us all on her own so Nate invested in this tag-a-long.

Look at her go!  She cried the whole time the first time.  The second time she loved it as long as Nate didn't go too fast.

This has been our summer of getting fit and we have all been working really hard.  We love doing things as a family and this is just one more thing we can do. :0)

Tucker's Week-long Scout Camp

So my son was gone for a week.  Not just Monday to Friday like we thought.  No.  It was Saturday afternoon before he came home.  What a long week without him.  He had a blast though.  He has made a really great friend in the branch that is just like him.  They play chess, games and sing at the top of their lungs together.

Tucker really wished he could have fished with them.  They did a bunch of fishing and we didn't get him a fishing tag for Nevada.

I sure am glad to have him home though. :0)

Thad's First Long Ride

Tucker is gone to scout camp and Thad needed something to do so Nate took him on a bike ride.  We took their bikes with us to school lunch and from there they came around the mountain home.

Nate said he did great!  Right near the end Thad's water pack broke so he had a wet back the last little bit.  His favorite part was riding up and over the overpass to come home.

Let's Go for a Ride

Santa brought Katy this bike and this is the first time that she was able to have her baby ride with her, she finally grew enough to have her seat high enough for the baby to fit.

UHPA Banquet

This might be one of my most looked forward to night of the year.  A guaranteed, (as long as we find sitters, Thanks John and Celest!) night out with my hunny.  For the last few years the banquet has been in Park City at the Yarrow hotel.  We missed having our friends the Taylors there with us but we enjoyed being together anyways. :0)

Nate got me a UHP sweater finally.  Which ended up being a good thing, it was cold the next day when we left.

It amazes me how much a night with just Nate can make it coming back to our kids so much easier.

Cherry Hill

We have found a new family vacation that we WILL be doing every year.  Who knew that just 5 minutes away from John and Celest would be paradise?  For the same price as a day at Lagoon we got to camp at Cherry Hill for two nights with two camp sites and a whole day at Cherry Hill.  Wow!

Katy really loved that we were in the grass and surrounded by trees.  The purple leafs were her favorite.

We played most of the day in the water park.  Getting the unlimited pass was the best thing ever!  After lunch the boys went miniature golfing while everyone else had a rest-er.  Then about 5 the wind and rain came and they shut down the water park. Almost everyone left.  We, had the all access pass and so we changed and headed back to do the human maze, hamster play-place, and this really cool nerf ball shooter place.  The guns were like vacuums and you would put the ball in the top and then cover the hole with your hand and it would shoot the ball.  The whole place was lite by black light.  We played here for hours!

At one point we had all us adults against the kids.  Katy was super cute trying her hardest to get us.

The older kids all did the rock wall.  Norma tried and tried to get to the top.  She went up at least 4 different times and just couldn't make it past this one point.

Thad made it to the top twice and hit the buzzer at the top both times.  Tucker did it once too but I didn't get a picture of that.

I can not believe how much fun we had and I can not wait to plan our next year's trip here.

Katy? or Something Else

Thad emptied his backpack and found this mask in it.  Katy is in love with it and loved scaring everyone.

Thad's a Cook

Thad has been cooking dinner this week.  I got a new cookbook and all the recipes are so easy.  I cooked a whole bunch of chicken earlier in the week and then Thad has been cooking with it.  I love it!

So does Katy!  And the other kids too. :0)

Eva's First Bike Ride

Nate has looked forward to having a companion on his bike rides.  Eva has a backpack to carry her own water and everything so they headed out.

This was at the top of the hill.  Nate said he tried to get her to go slow up the hill but she was just to excited to be out and smelling all the good things around.

This was on the way down.  See how far back she is?

That little speck on the road is Eva.  She was walking at this point even though Nate was going down hill and fast.  He ended up calling me to come and get her so he could finish his ride.

Poor thing could not get enough of the ac and then tried her hardest to keep out of the sun.  Little did we know that she was hurt.  The backpack and cut into her side.  But that wasn't the worst of it.  The next day I noticed her licking her paws more than normal and went to check them out and saw that she and worn her paws down to nothing.  She just laid around for three days after this ride.  Eva is a Very active dog so having her lay around for so long was really sad to see.  Needless to say, she is not going on any long bike rides soon.

Tucker Graduates

I have just wanted to cry all day long.  My baby is no longer a baby and will be going to the high school once August comes.

Tucker is no longer an elementary student.  He graduated from 6th grade today.  His teacher Mr.  Tangaro said some amazing things about his class.  When he first started teaching out here in Wendover, he was at the Head Start Preschool and had this class.  Then he was offered to teach 3rd grade, this same group of kids.  And this last year he was asked to teach 6th grade and knew it was suppose to be because it was this same group of kids.  He has watched them grow and was emotional telling all us parents how he was just as excited and anxious for this kids to go into the high school.

Tucker was more embarrassed that he had to walk next to a girl than anything.

Grandpa and Nana were able to come out and be with us for this wonderful stepping stone of Tuckers.  We were so glad that the were able to come.  They were even able to bring cousins Jennifer and Lily but they didn't really want to be in the picture.

Norma was not told that she could have come.  She was really sad that she missed it.

But we made up for it but checking her out and all of us going to Pizza Hut for  lunch.

What an exciting thing for Tucker to be able to do 7th-12th grade all in the High School.  He is super excited and can't wait to go.  :0)

Last Day vs First Day

I have seen a lot of these pictures of the kids first day of school along side their last day of school so I had to see my own children's.

First Day

Last Day

Umm, Thad needs a haircut.  Desperately.
