Snowman?

We had a pretty good snow today and since I wasn't going to church with a sick Norma and me still not feeling up to par, I sent the boys out in the snow. They have been waiting to make a snowman ever since Ira, Thadd's friend that lives across the street made one. Apparently, we have never taught our boys how to build a snowman or this just wasn't snowman snow material. They kept coming to the door and asking me how to make a ball. I, being in my PJ's still, told them to just go do their best. I gave them a whole bunch of fruit for the face and buttons down the front. But as you can see, no snowman.Even the neighbor boy, Canyon, came out before church to see if he could help. Thanks to Dereck for shoveling my steps.Thadd like swinging though.Hum... looks like next storm I'm going to be going out with them and showing them how things are done.

Thanksgiving

Happy Thanksgiving everyone! I Hope that you had a wonderful, food filled day! I can't believe that I didn't take any pictures all day. I usually get one of the food at least but I didn't get that either. I even dressed the girls in their new Christmas dresses I made. (Yes, I made Norma another one.)
It was a wonderful week. Winni came and spent most of the week here and helped me cook and bake everything. Mostly sweets. :0) Which ended up being a good thing when I came down with a cold Wednesday night after dinner. I've never had a cold hit me so fast and so hard. I had been fine all day but after dinner, my head felt like it was in a fish bowl, my nose was running and my throat was killing me. Nate ended up making the rolls on Thursday morning. He does a better job of it anyways. My rolls never work out. I can bake anything but yeast breads just don't work for me.
It was a small Thanksgiving at my parents house this year. It was just our little family, my parents, Gerald, Winni and my uncles Lynn and Grant came. It was wonderful! My dad was so happy that his brothers were coming that it made it such a nice day. I haven't seen him that happy for having people over for a long time. Mom even got off work when she was suppose too and Cindy stopped by and got some turkey before heading home to bed.
*I had to add in this so that I can always remember. My Uncle Lynn had a hook for his left hand. At dinner, we hold hands when we say the pray. Norma happened to be on Lynn's left side. He had had his arm in his lap until this time. I was a little nervous about how Norma would react. Lynn put his arm on the edge of his wheelchair when Norma reached for his hand. She looked at it, grabbed it and closed her eyes for the prayer. Lynn said she kept lifting it up and down all through the prayer. Later, Gerald was holding Kate and came and sat next to Lynn. He held up his hook to pretend to get her nose. She turned and looked at me and gave me one of her,"Is this really for me to play with?" grins? It was great! She sat and played and tugged on it for about 10 minutes. I had to keep telling her to be soft. She thought she had a new toy. I love my Uncle Lynn and my boys have always been very shy around him because of his hook and wheelchair. He has no legs and I think that scares them too. When I was in Kindergarten, I took Lynn to school for show and tell! I think he is the best! So glad to have spent some time with him.*
I am so thankful for all the many blessings in my life. My wonderful husband, who is the perfect companion and friend. Tucker, who is such a helper and a good example for hie younger siblings. Thadd, who is always willing to help with Kate and always ready to laugh. Norma, who is my princess and such a girl. I don't know what I'd do without her. Kate, who made my life complete in her presence. My parents and siblings, my wonderful in-laws, our home and neighbors, the list can go on and on. I have thought of my many blessings today and I wouldn't have them at all if I did not believe in my Heavenly Fathers love and in his son, Jesus Christ. All that they have done so that I can have these blessings, for that, I am truly thankful for. With the holiday season officially upon us, I pray that the Spirit of God by with all of you and your family's and that we can remember the true meaning of the Season and have it be the main theme of our holidays.
Sending our love and blessings your way, Happy Thanksgiving!

Crawling

Kate is crawling!!! She has been doing the push backward thing for a while now. The boys are always on the floor trying to get her to go forward. Well, on Saturday, they got her to do it. It was just a hand, hand, knee, belly but it was defiantly forward. It didn't take long for it to be hand, hand, knee, knee. And the rest is history.
She has discovered that she can get places today. She can finally get to what she sees, meaning, paper, garbage that I can't see, books, crayons, markers and just about anything she can put in her mouth. She is very cute!
Nate and I were talking about it and she is the first one to do the tradition crawl right off the bat. Tucker did the "stink bug" crawl, Thadd rolled to what ever he wanted and Norma army crawled. But it is so fun to watch her just crawl that we get the biggest kick out of it.
It won't be long before she is faster and braver to start trying the stairs. We never thought that we would have to baby proof our house and now we have too. And soon! Christmas is going to be fun. NOT! No presents under our tree or ornaments under the 2 foot mark.
Next thing she will be walking and then my baby won't be my baby anymore. :(
Oh, Norma is talking in the background too about her hair clip pulling at her hair. The yelling is a new thing Kate likes to do now. I think it is just her way of being part of the family and getting people to pay attention to her. Walle is the only one not happy about Kate's crawling. He is now missing fists full of fur, and he can't understand why we have been on the floor, making excited noises and then telling him to move out of the way. Poor Walle.

*Trying to get the video working. Please check back later. :)*

Silly Baby

So I got my shower in before the kids woke up this morning, (Yay Me!) so I had my hair in a towel when Kate woke up. I went and got her out of bed and she just started crying. I thought that maybe I had hurt her when I picked her up so I hugged her. She was straining to get out of my arms, just screaming! Then I remembered, she doesn't like the towel on my head. This happened about a week ago too. That time I had to have Tucker take her to calm her down even. As soon as I took the towel off, she cuddled right into me and finished her morning bottle. Silly baby. :)

Primary Program

The kids had their Primary Program today. They have been working on it for weeks and were so excited to do it this year. Last year they didn't want to go to the front but this year they couldn't wait. They all woke up and got right ready for me this morning. It was wonderful! It is always so hard to get us all ready when Nate is not here on Sunday's but they did and I was so proud. The sang so well and I was even impressed that Thadd sang. He has been getting ready for his school Christmas program and has been singing those songs for the last two weeks and so I think that helped him be more willing to sing today in Church. Norma was sad that she could only see Gerald. There was just so many people in church today for the program.

I wanted to take some pictures of the kids in their church clothes for a Christmas card so I thought I would share some of the ones that where on the "Not a chance" list. Here are some pictures of Kate's new thing. She isn't really "crawling" but she sure knows how to move. She has the backward thing down, until she gets in a corner. This is her corner that she always gets suck in. She also is really good at getting her feet stuck under the couch too. Thadd is really trying hard to get her to crawl forward. He is always getting down on the floor with her and trying to help her go forward. The dog thinks that they are down there to play with him and is always getting fists full of hair pulled out by Kate.

Christmas Jammies

Here are the jammies I made for Heather's kids for Christmas. She brought me the material and I put them together. I loved how Lily's turned out and the nightgown pattern I used is one that I've made for Norma twice and just Love it! So fun! Making these for Christmas has me listening to Christmas music and wanting to put up the tree. :)

School Pictures

We didn't purchase school pictures this year so I took the boys picture outside in the back yard. Now I just need to do one of Norma.

A few more projects

Here are a few more projects that I have been working on these last few weeks.

I made Norma a new winter dress. I haven't made her one for 2 years and she was in need of a longer one for sure. Kate got this yellow one from our good friends and they looked so cute together.
I made this diaper bag and carseat cover for a friend from High School. She is getting her second boy in January. I think they turned out great! I also took all the other diaper bags that I made a few months ago to a place to sell. We'll see how they do at the end of the month. I also put together another carseat cover for a friend in the ward but I didn't get a picture of that one before I gave it to her.
I have always loved these leggings for babies. Kate had some on for some of the pictures my cousin Harmonie took of her and I just loved them. I found a pattern for them! I made these and they were so stinking easy! I have more to make and even some for Norma too.

I have also got 5 of the 8 jammies that I'm making for Christmas done. I'll post pictures of Heather's kids jammies after I give them to her. I have a list of things still to make in the next few weeks; fun Christmas dresses for my girls, more leggings, garbage bag holders, 3 more jammies, a tutu for Norma (she saw Kate's and wants her own), more hair bows and some Christmas decorations too. I'm so excited!

A good day

Today was a good day. Even a great day. Winni came and spent the night last night so she could watch the kids today because I had a Craft day with some neighborhood ladies and Nate was taking Tucker to the BYU game.

I had so much fun! I signed up for way too many things but I got to do them all and learned to do a lot of cute things. Here is a list of what I made today.

Owl ornaments. These are the cutest little things! I can't wait to hang them on my tree! I'm thinking I need to make more and make a garland out of them to hand over my stairs.

This cute little tutu for Kate. I got some really cute candy cane tights for her last year after Christmas and I can't wait to put her in them! :)

These hair bows. So EASY! I totally can't wait to make more to match all of Norma's outfits and Kate's too!

A Matilda Jane dress. I'm not finished with it but I am super excited about this one. I made this one for my cousins daughter and I am making some for my girls too but there is so many different ways I can put this one together and it will be so fun to make all the different variations of it.

This is just what I did today! It was really nice to go and craft with some really great ladies today and have some "me time" but then I really enjoyed coming home and spending time with my sister too. I just had a really good day.

I have so many more projects to post that I have finished this week and so many more to go. I have been finding so many online that I want to make and am having a blast doing them all with just the things I have around the house. I'll be posting again soon. :)
