Race for the Cure 2014

This year I was so happy that my mom could come with us.  She has always wanted to come and do this race with us but has had to work.  This is the first time she hasn't so she came with us.  Katy didn't want to leave her side the whole morning.

The free stuff is always fun and they handed out these eye strips.  Mom, Norma and I were the only ones willing to put them on. :0)

We really didn't want to deal with a stroller on trax this year so we walked the one mile and didn't do the 3k.  The other kids were pretty sad that we didn't run it but Katy isn't use to walking that far yet.  Next year guys.  Promise.

By the time we were done with the walk most of the free stuff was gone.  We went to the kids corner and Thad and Norma got their faces painted.  Katy didn't want anything to do with that, which was fine because her jam face was paint enough.  They were painting hair pink as well and Nana and I got some for our hair.

It started raining harder on us so we made our way back to the trax and went to breakfast.

I am always so emotional at this race and that is why we come to do it.  We remember Grandma Powell and all that she did for us.  I love having this race as a reminder of her and all that she went through.  We don't do it for the free stuff or even the race, we do it to remember Grandma and we will always do this when we can.
