New Suit

Someone is turning 12 and will be needing a suit to pass the sacrament in a few weeks.

Doesn't he look so sharp! He got so many complements today at church.

Family, Crafts and Nails

Because family was here and we can't have a weekend together without crafting, we also did nails.  They had the fake ones on sale at the store and we got a bunch for us girls and I didn't want the other girls to feel left out so we got them some too.

They didn't last long.  By the end of the night they had both taken them all off.

I did get my crafts done I wanted too.  I've had this stuff for the garland and the letters for a few years and they got done this year. :0)

I miss crafting.  And baking.  And doing laundry and dishes and anything but school work all day long.  Well, that is what I'm heading back too now. :0)

Wake Up John and Play

We had a house full this weekend and the two couples, John and Celest and Miah and Kristy, slept in the living room.  The down side to that, the dogs wake you up.  They though John was laying there for them.

Pellet Stove Joys

As sad as it was to have Katy hurt herself on the stove, this is one of the best parts about it.  You can lay on the couch, reading school books with your feet in front of the fire.  So nice and cozy.

Pellet Stove Dangers

So at the new house is a pellet stove.  Nate was so excited and tried to put one in the other place when we were there.  I'm glad he didn't because we got in here.  Norma was standing in front of yesterday when she realized that it made her pants really warm.  She then walked around wanting us all to feel how warm her bum was.

Katy is in "copy cat" mode and mimics everything lately.  Even this.  I was doing dishes when Nate came running in, pulling down her pants, holding her in the air and telling me to turn on the cold water.  Katy was standing in front of the stove and warming her bum up to have everyone fell how hot it got when she tripped backing up and landed right on the stove.

Poor girl lost skin and everything.  It is Saturday night and we have nothing for burns in our house.  I only hoped that Smiths, our only store here, would have something.  I did not want to have to drive her into town to find something.

They did and the internet is a wonderful thing that we were able to look up the best treatment for it.  Homework was put on hold for the night because all this girl wanted to do was sit like this on her mommy's lap.  I was so afraid to move or move her at all.

This is the next morning.

It started to ooze and we had to keep a bandage on it, changing it every night and morning.  By day 4 her skin was so sore from the bandage and the burn was scabbing over we let it go without.  It was itching her so bad and we had her in overalls with instructions to not scratch.  It was so funny to look over and see her wiggling and dancing and when we asked what she was doing she told us she was scratching.  It was so funny and cute.  She will probably have a scar and now she doesn't like the fire but this was a learning experience for us all.  I don't think she'll have people feel her bum again.

Draco's Finished Home

Draco is all set up now.  We needed to get him something that would get him closer to the heat lamp, he just wasn't getting warm enough down on the other rock.  There is a great pet shop in Tooele that has been so helpful and not to far for Nate to go to when he has to work so he can go and get the crickets when we run out.

We have everything set up in Thad's room and we were able to get the table from storage to put it on.  Love that the rooms are big enough that we can do this and Thad loves having a dragon.

We wouldn't believe it but this little guy has such a personality.  I might be in love with him.  I love that he will eat his dry/wet food out of my hand and he always turns his head right at me when I walk in the room.  The boys love having him crawl all over them but he still won't come to me.  I think I'm okay with that.

Thanks Gerald for giving us something so fun and getting us started on a new hobby.

Thad's in Jr. Jazz

Thad asked to be in Jr Jazz and part of the reason we moved out here was so we could do this for the kids.  No one but Thad wanted to do it and I am so happy he did.  He loves it!

This is at his first game and he is doing so well!

The other kids didn't like sitting there watching the game but I loved it.  Watching him enjoy himself so much is just amazing for me.  Can't wait for the rest of the season.

Smile much?

Thad had a dentist appointment today to fill some cavities.  Out of all the kids, Norma had no cavities, Tucker had one and Thad had three!

Poor kids was trying to smile and I laughed so hard when I saw him I made him take a picture.  He walked out and said his face felt funny and I had to show him in the reflection of the kindle what he looked like.  Still makes me laugh.  It was like this almost all day long.

Can We Build My Bike Now?

Katy got a new bigger bike for Christmas and Nate was bugged enough to put it together for her tonight.  I think she had more fun helping him build it than she will riding it.

When did she get so big?

"You'll lose an eye... Umm head"

Thad and Tucker got to shoot today for the first time.  Santa brought a whole bunch of army guys for them to shoot with their guns and Thad was pretty proud of this one.
