As some of you may know, my little brother John is getting married on May 12th to the most wonderful girl, Celest. We are so happy for them both and I am in charge of making all the nieces dresses for the wedding. There is 7 of them. As of right now, I have 6 of them (minus the zippers) done. I am really hoping that tonight I will get most of the zippers in. To add to these dresses, there are little jackets to go with them. They are almost done thanks to my Mom who sewed most of them. But here is the kicker. There was enough material left over that I am now making 5 more dresses for the open house that is on the 10th. These dresses went together so well that I know that I will have them done in plenty of time. There are a few other things to do to like Winni's backpack I'm making for her birthday on Monday, treats for the wedding luncheon including cream puffs, brownies and lemon bars, plus staying on top of the household chores and chasing Katy all over the house. She LOVES the stairs right now. At least she is learning the down part a little better. Oh and the Race for the Cure is in a week and I've decided that walking it is just as good as trying to run/jog it which is all I would be able to do. To add to all of this, I've gotten a head cold. I'm really thinking I'm getting over that but who knows.
I really feel terrible that the last few posts have been picture free but I promise that there will be a lot coming. We have a busy month for May so make sure you check back to see all the action. :0)

Race for the Cure
As the world's leading breast cancer organization, Susan G. Komen for the Cure® is committed to ending breast cancer forever. On May 7, 2011, I will join thousands of others playing a part in the annual Komen Salt Lake City Race for the Cure®. By making a donation on my behalf, you are supporting local breast cancer screening, treatment, education and outreach along with international research that will lead us to a world without breast cancer.
It is likely you know someone who as been diagnosed with breast cancer perhaps you or your spouse, a relative, coworker, neighbor or friend someone in your life's circle who has heard the words, "You have breast cancer."
A diagnosis of breast cancer affects more than just the patient. When someone we love is diagnosed, we all are affected. Families work doubly hard to keep homes running smoothly while the patient travels the road of breast cancer treatment. Businesses struggle, not only to support their coworker, but also to fill gaps in productivity.
You see, breast cancer doesn't care so we have to care!
My goal is to raise $100 this year. Please help me reach that goal with your financial support. Online donations are simple, and the site is secure. Please go to my fundraising page and make a tax-deductible donation online at komenslc.org.
If you prefer, mail your donation today to Salt Lake City Affiliate at 8160 S. Highland Drive, Suite A-5, Sandy, UT 84093-6579 . Please make your check payable to: Susan G. Komen for the Cure and add my name in the memo.
The deadline to have my donations collected is by April 22, 2011.
Thank you in advance for your support. Please call me if you have any questions about the Komen Race for the Cure®.
Sincerely,
Bobby
P.S. I would ask you to consider making an investment of $100 towards the fight for a world without breast cancer.
I believe strongly in this cause and I am honored to be participating in this race. We have made a goal to do this race next year as a family. I really am not asking for money. This is a pre-typed letter that they have asked for us to share. I don't want you to donate for me. Donate because you want to help those that need it. Breast cancer affects everyone. Whether you know it or not.

Easter Bunny
As some of you may know, the Easter Bunny comes to our house on Saturday instead of on Easter Sunday. I made this decision before children ever came into my life. I wanted them to know the REAL reason of Easter and to focus on that reason on Sunday when we can go to church and have the stories told to us. They can get all their excitement and sugar rush over with on Saturday and then we can have a wonderful, relaxing Easter Sunday.
I am truly sorry that I don't have any pictures. I couldn't find the camera. There would have been some amazing pictures too if I had. Oh well. Hopefully I can describe to you well enough that you can see it. :0)
Last year when the Easter Bunny came and left an egg hunt for the children, Nate and I woke up to a pile of eggs on the couch. The boys had gotten up and found them all before we could even get down with Norma. So last night I told them that if they got up before anyone else, they could find 10 eggs. At 6 o'clock this morning I hear the boys talking. They hadn't gone to bed til nearly 11 the night before so I went to tell them that they needed to go back to sleep. I hear Tucker telling Thadd this, "I woke up at 3 and went back to sleep. Then I woke up at 5 and went back to sleep." This is where I spoke up, "And you woke up at 6 and are going to go back to sleep til 8!" Didn't quite happen.
Kate was the cutest. She squealed when she heard that there was something in those bright little eggs and walked around shaking them all. Then she carried her basket around like a purse. She is really into purses right now. My kind of girl. :0)
The older kids all got baseball mitts and a bat and some balls to play with when we go camping. We had a lot of fun tossing a ball around. The boys did really well with catching the ball. Norma... keep closing her eyes and saying, "Okay, I'm ready."
I am a little sad that Nate couldn't be here to watch them having so much fun with everything. He is in Moab working this weekend. He was hand picked and it is just 3 of them that are down there just being an extra man on the roads.
I hope that everyone enjoys their Easter weekend. We are off to a day of cookie making and our Easter egg cupcakes. (I get to break into our coconut!) Love you all and I hope that we can remember the Savior this weekend and why we get to have chocolate bunnies and marshmallow Peeps, that there is a much bigger reason for our wanting to spoil our kids with sugar for a day.

Easter Outfits
My Mom and Dad got all the kids new Easter outfits and I was so happy to put them in them this week. Kate on the other hand, did not. She is not feeling well and was not happy about being woke up, dressed up and being made to take pictures. But she was so beautiful, even crying. I have the best looking kids around! Check them out!

Dance Class
We have put Norma in a dance class. It is just a lady in our ward that is doing it out of her home but Norma's friend Maggie, our neighbor, is in it with her and they just love it. I stayed for the class this week so I could get some pictures of her dancing. It was so cute to see all these little girls in pink tutu's!
She just loves it and we are so happy to have her in it and giving her something to do. Although Thursdays are really long because as soon as she wakes up she wants to know when she gets to go to dance class.

Gerald's in the Air Force
That's right, Gerald was sworn into the Air Force today. He will be in basic training for 8 weeks and then go right into tech school for 6 weeks followed by special ops. We won't be seeing him again til sometime in August. My Dad looks so proud of him in the picture. I know that Gerald will love this new part of his life and that he will do wonderful.
And a big Happy Birthday tomorrow too, Gerald! I love you and I will be praying for you and hoping that you stay safe.

Welcome Home
Glade and Diane came home today! They have been in Mongolia on a mission and we are so happy to have them home! They were suppose to be coming home in the afternoon and their flight ended up being pushed back to later in the night. We went to their house with all the cousins from both sides to decorate the house and make signs to take to the airport.
When the kids finally saw Grandpa and Nana they couldn't contain it. All the kids RUSHED them! You had to be there to get the feeling from all these grandkids just wanting to hug their grandparents. They had security over there trying to move everyone because they were blocking the walkway. It was amazing to watch!
We are so happy to have them home but we know that they will miss the Mongolian people very much and will always have them in their hearts.
(Thank you Amy for the pictures. I was a slacker and didn't even get my camera out but Amy took these and I got to use them.)

Quick Camping Trip
It was a last minute decision but after talking about spring break, (when we had wanted to go camping), totally forgetting that Nate still had classes and all the time off he took to go camping would be spent doing homework, we decided to go to Willow Park for the night.
I have to say that it was the best time I have ever had with my kids. I wasn't super excited about going to Willow Park because I don't feel like it is camping if you are not up in the mountains or it took you longer than a hour to get there. But it was so much fun. It was amazing. We just love our little tent trailer and we have so much fun.
The kids loved being right by the playground. They had a blast! It was the last warm day that we had and we just played and played. Tucker was pretty proud of himself for doing the monkey bars. I was nervous letting him do them. I broke my leg when I was 8 on the monkey bars and had to have a plate and 8 screws put in my leg. :0/ Norma and Thadd had fun on the little one and they were all sad that there weren't swings.Kate played in the playpen while we set up camp and the kids played at the park. Her playpen fit perfect where the table goes and she loved being able to see and hear the kids through the window. Nate got some good pictures of her.We played with the frisbee and bat and ball and we went for a walk while we were waiting for our dinner to cook. Which was amazing too. :0)We roasted bunny marshmallows around the fire. The kids couldn't understand why Nate and I just wanted to sit and watch the fire. Or why it would be relaxing for us. We told them how nice it was just to warm our feet by the fire.Norma thought that meant taking off her shoes to warm her feet. When it got to cold we went in and played card games together and ate treats til it was time for bed. I love spending time with my kids and my husband when we are doing things that we enjoy doing and we are enjoying the time we spend together. I love my little family so much and I can't wait to go camping many, many more times this summer!
