Papa brought out kites for the kids and loved flying them. It was the perfect wind for it too. Katy got away with just having Papa tie her kite to the car. :0)

Baptism Day
What an important day in our family. Norma has made the choice to become a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints.
This is my baptism dress. I found it when I was unloading totes from the storage shed. I was shocked to find it. I loved that it fit her but she said it was too itchy to wear to the church so I let her change back into her jammies to go over.
Tucker and Thad gave the talks on baptism and the Holy Ghost. They both did just wonderful and I couldn't be prouder of them.
Here are just some pictures from before.
We had just a few family member that could make it and these are the men that were there. Papa, Nate, President Holloway and John.
It was short and sweet. Where we get to pick and do baptisms on our own out here, it was really quick. I don't think anyone complained though.
We had Nana and Papa, John and Celest, Jeremiah and Kristy, Kelly and James, Kathryn, Becky and Addie, and Heidi and Brynn come to be here for Norma.
Nana had made Norma a cake. She had let Norma pick it out and decide what she wanted. This is how it looked before leaving.
This is what happened after 2 hours in the car.
Thank you to all who came and supported Norma. And thank you to all of you who were here in spirit.

Happy Birthday 8 Year Old!
Well, I have another 8 year old. Only one left to go. Norma got to spend the day at school and then come home and help me make her cake.
We had crowns and blowers to celebrate and Katy had a blast.
John and Celest gave the girls these matching shirts and Norma really wanted to wear them on her birthday. These are some cute girls!

Letter from Grandpa and Nana
Grandpa and Nana are so good about sending the kids a letter each week and Norma got her's today. In it was this little red and white string.
They wrote that is was be to worn throughout the month and at the end of the month you make a wish and tie it onto a tree. It is a blessing for a fruitful and healthy year.

Norma's Surprise
Norma has been asking for a kindle fire ever since I got mine over a year ago. Well, Nana and Papa decided that she didn't need to ask any more.
We drove into town so that they would be able to see her for her birthday and give their gift to her in person.
Took her a minute to figure out what it was but when she did, her eyes got all big, her voice all squeaky gave it a big hug.

Garden of Gumbo
I can't believe that we are crazy enough to try this again but we are going to try and do a garden again. Last year we didn't get it watered very well and it only grew a bit but we really want to make it work.
Part of the problem was that the water would run right through the soil and not leave any for the plants. Nate did a bit of research and we decided to try putting plastic down underneath the soil to help hold in the water and keep the plants growing in the good soil. Which meant we had to move all of the soil out and put it back in.
I will not be able to walk tomorrow. But it's done and ready to have a bit more done to the soil to help it grow veggies.
Nate found a pepper from last years attempt.
Beautiful and ready for more work. No, there are not plants in those tomato cages, we just needed somewhere to store them.

Happy Birthday Katy!
Yes, it is her birthday and yes, she is 4. Nana, Papa and Winni came out so we celebrated a day early. I had a blast putting everything up, or telling Nate where to put it up.
This castle has been around a long time. I got it free from Disney Rewards back when Norma turned 4. It still works, (sort of) and I just knew that she would love it!
She walked out of her room in the morning, saw the table, turned back around and noticed the balloons. Silly girl. Of course with all those presents on the table we had to open them before breakfast.
One princess hat, check. Two princess dresses, check. Frozen coloring books, homework work books, markers and Frozen dolls, check.
This is her gift we got her from Grandpa and Nana on a mission and the first thing she did as soon as she saw what it was she was screaming, "Make-up!"
Norma was just as interested in the make-up.
She loved the dresses and as soon as she opened them handed one to Norma. She is such a good sharer and a wonderful sister.
Good thing Nana and Papa brought Norma an early birthday present. A dress of her own.
We got Katy a castle so we would quit having to make one out of blankets and chairs for her. This one is much easier to pick up too. :0)
I attempted to make a Frozen cake and was super happy that my mother was here to help me with it.
Katy with her "make-up".
Little did we know it was real. Nate was surprised that I had ordered it but after her reaction when she opened it, it will be worth the mess.
We are so glad that our 4 year-old had a great birthday and that everyone that came was there to celebrate with us. It is so much better to have someone else enjoy her reactions as much as we do.
Eva and Balloons
Eva is so funny with balloons. We had a blast with her when we had all those balloons from Tucker's birthday and while we were decorating for Katy's she was so excited!
My friend Angela took these videos and it is perfect! You can see how she loves the balloons and she has such a soft mouth to bring them back to throw it again for her. I love how her butt just flips as she tries to get higher.
Nate thought it would be smart to tie a balloon to the fan and let her be able to play with herself. :0)
Man we love this dog!

Junior Jazz
Thad has loved playing basketball and we have loved seeing him have so much fun. His season is over and his team made 3rd place. What an amazing thing for him and we hope to have him play every year.
