Flat Stanley's vacation

"Dear Tucker."
"Here are the photo's of the travel's of Flat Stanley with me here in Parsippany, New Jersey."
"The first thing we did was play a game of SCABBLE with Brother John,"

"and then visited a local bakery where a friend of mine works."

"We got tasty treats!"

"Brazil!!"

"Stanley was so excited when we met with Bryan Kehl, the Pro Football player for the Giants here in New Jersey."

"After a while I decided that he needed a name tag to be rollin' around with us missionaries. You can see New York in the distance."

"Finally we had a B-day bash for me."

"I hope he enjoyed his trip."
Your pal,
Elder Gerald Montag.

Holy Cow!

We were invited down to Nephi today. A guy Nate works with owns a farm down there and asked for some help branding his calves today. I little weird, yes, but it was very interesting.

Tucker has needed to do a Great Brain Project for school this year and has had a hard time coming up with something to do it on so this was perfect. Nate and Tucker got the on computer and did some research on cows and the different ways to brand them. Found out some interesting information. I'll post his report when he gets it done.

Korey, the guy Nate works with, had about 30 calves he was branding and giving shots to today. It was really sad when we got there because they had the mama's and the babies in different pens and they were so loud. Just crying because they couldn't get to each other. I'm thinking it may just be my state of mind but it was really sad.
There was a big sand box at the house that Norma just loved! She may be the princess but give her dirt to dig in and she's in heaven. It was fun getting to go down there and help in something like this. Thank you Korey!

Something to do

We found this really good deal on a swing set yesterday. It was something we just couldn't pass up.
I am so glad we got this! It will be a lifesaver this summer. The boys drive me crazy by asking, "What can we do?" My answer to them is that they are kids and can find things to do. Now I will have an answer for them that they might like to hear.

It will be super nice in the summer when I can turn on the sprinkler and make a water slide and they can swing in the water. Now you may be wondering, "In the mud?" Well, yes. We hope to get grass back there sooner than later but until then I would rather bathe them every night then try and deal with them in the house or try to get to the park daily or feel like a clown that is here just for the entertainment of my children.

The kids had so much fun helping Nate put it together. Thadd didn't want to go to bed last night because he thought that his dad was going to put it together without him. I told him that he wasn't doing it at night and that we would be sure to tell him when he was.

I think this is going to work out very nicely!

Question of the night

Thadd - " Where does milk come from?"
Tucker - "Cows"
Norma - "No, fridges"
I really debated writing about this but I decided it was going to be easier than answering a lot of questions later on. This last week I have had a miscarriage. It has been hard because I have been really sick and thought I was having twins. I had an ultra sound scheduled to find out if it was twins and before I could go to that I knew I had lost them. I did find out that it was twins but that has been little comfort. It is nice to know I can trust my feelings but hard knowing it wasn't going to work. Please know that your thoughts and prayers are felt and very much appreciated. I feel like this is something my Heavenly Father needed me to go through at this time and I know he has been with me and my family through it all.

Spring Break 09'

For spring break this year I made plans to do a lot of family activities so that I would not hear, "What can we do?" all week long. Monday Tucker of course learned how to ride his bike. On Tuesday, we took the kids to Monsters Vs. Aliens. The kids had so much fun! Thadd was so excited to see it in 3D! He was so funny in these glasses. Norma even enjoyed it till the end when it was just a little to scary for her and she walked out.
Wednesday we went up to the Aquarium in Sandy. I wasn't as impressed as I would have been if it hadn't been in the old Micheal's building. But the kids had a really good time. Tucker and Thadd loved trying to touch a fish or a ray. The water was to deep for them to really touch a ray but they really tried to get a fish. It was so nice to have Nate home for spring break and get to spend all this time with family. I hope my kids have had a good break and will be ready to get back to real life next week.

Wishing my missionary bro a Happy Birthday!

I wanted to sent a shout out to my brother Gerald on his 21st birthday! He is in New Jersey on his mission and doing so well! Love you Gerald! Norma's not in the video, sorry, she was being a stinker. Hope your day is wonderful and you enjoy your cake and finger steaks!

Quick Learner.

It was such a nice day out today that we totally took advantage of it and spent the afternoon outside. The kids were riding their bikes and scooters and I was just visiting with a friend while Nate tried to finish up a report for work. In the middle of everything, Nate decided to take off Tucker's training wheels. 20 minutes later this is what we got.

I could not believe how well he picked up on it! Nate walked behind him for a little while and told him that the key was to keep his balance. I think Nate told Tuck the best thing when he told him that keeping his balance was just like the balance game on the Wii Fit. It worked like a charm! The dog in the video is the neighbors. Thadd tried to ride with out his training wheels too but couldn't quit honking his horn. Go Tucker!

Happy Easter!

Well the Easter Bunny came to our house today. Before we ever had Tucker, I told Nate that the Easter Bunny would always come to our house on the Saturday before Easter so that on Sunday we can focus on the Real reason for Easter.

Little did I know that the Easter Bunny would be just as good as Santa. 5 o'clock this morning is when my boys woke up looking for eggs! Now that is early but it makes it very early when Nate is working til 2 in the morning. Who knew that the Easter Bunny would be such a big hit! These are the only pictures I got because, yet again, 5 in the morning is early!

Norma's three year check up

Norma had her three year check up today. It was hard getting her into this one. I had an appointment for her two weeks ago but it was the day we had a really bad snow storm and I just got into Saratoga Springs after driving for twenty minute and turned around.

She has been so excited for her "appointment" as she had called it all day. So cute! She was so grown up at the doctor's office. Walked in by herself because she is "to big for me to carry now." They got us right in which was awesome! The nurse asked Norma a question but she didn't realize she was talking to her. She loved showing the nurse how tall she was with her hands high over her head. Then when she had to stand up against the wall she stood on tippy toes. She is 36 1/2 inches tall and 30.8 lbs which is in the 25th % for her age.

When she was just a little baby, the doctor told me that her little private part was almost all the way closed. We had to put a cream on it to try and open it up a little. I asked the doctor about that today just to make sure things were okay. Poor thing, it is now all the way closed and we are going to have to take her to an Urologist. It will make it so she gets UTI's very easy. Hopefully we can get her in sooner than later.

The best part about the whole thing was when she got her shot. The nurse came in and showed her the Tweety Bird band aid. She just had to pull up her pant leg and I held her on my lap. I had a good grip on her hands but it was all for nothing. Norma watched the nurse give her the shot and only said, "Owe." No crying, no screaming, no nothing! I have to say I am so shocked! My boys I have to hold them down kicking and screaming just for their shots.

My baby is growing up and it makes me so sad. I wish I could keep her just as she is now because she is so loving and a sweet special spirit. I'm so grateful that she is mine and I love her so much.
